Offer DescriptionThe KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence ( ) at the University of Cyprus announces one (1) Special Scientist for Research (Postdoctoral Researcher) position, for full-time employment. The successful candidate will work on research and development of cybersecurity solutions for Industrial Control Systems (ICS).Who we are:The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence is the largest research center at the University of Cyprus and in 2017 was upgraded to a European Research Center of Excellence through the KIOS CoE Teaming project. Currently, the Center employs more than 180 people who are supported by externally funded research and innovation projects. Oversee research and development activities for EU-funded Innovation Action (IA) projects related to cybersecurity tools for modern energy systems.
Provide guidance and steer applied research directions in the field of data-driven anomaly diagnosis in modern energy systems.
Contribute towards the composition of knowledge and frameworks regarding advanced cyber-attack vectors in modern energy systems.
Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, and resources.
Lead the planning and execution of projects.
Manage and report on project progress.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project partners and regulatory bodies.
Ensure project compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Writing technical documentation.
Participation in meetings (locally, virtually, and abroad).
Prepare reports and project deliverables.
Prepare research proposals.
Publish results in top international conferences and journals.

The required skills and expertise for the announced position include following:

Proficiency in networked systems security.
Experience with anomaly detection using Machine Learning frameworks.
Solid understanding of Operating Systems (OS) security.
Familiarity with secure software execution and verification.
Systems programming knowledge.
Knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
Familiarity with cyber attack frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK).
Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) security.

Initially, a one-year contract will be offered, which is renewable based on performance. The gross monthly salary depends on the candidate's qualifications and experience and will be between €1900 - €3200. From this amount, employee contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted. A 13th salary bonus is incorporated in the monthly salary. Maternity leave will be granted based on Maternity Protection Law 1997(Ν.100(Ι)/1997), and the existing amendment laws.Selection processApplication:Interested candidates should submit the following items online through the link:.
