As a valued member of our team, the role of Senior Site Reliability Engineer is vital in ensuring the reliability, resilience, and recoverability of our systems. You will contribute to the establishment of processes and standards that promote reliability, manage incidents, and ensure business continuity. Your responsibilities span from cultivating the technology and practice of Observability within the organization to delivering technical support for live production systems and collaborating on cloud solutions for scalable and reliable architectures. Your mentorship will play a pivotal role in guiding junior engineers and imparting knowledge on-site reliability practices, tools, and cloud technologies.Your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Contributing to processes and standards that promote reliability and recoverability including Incident Management, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity
- Delivering the technology and practice of Observability within the business, including, monitoring and alerting to report on systems capacity and measure service reliability over time
- Assisting engineering teams with building observable systems, helping teams craft service-level objectives
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting of live production systems as Incident Managers
- Facilitating the response to emergencies and assisting engineering with recovery operations
- Assisting engineering teams by providing guidance and training on a 24x7 support capability, and the practical application of incident triage and recovery
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cloud solutions that provide resilient, scalable, and reliable architectures
- Mentoring junior engineers and training them on cloud technologies, site reliability practices, and tools
- Staying up to date with cloud industry trends, technologies, and market changes
- Minimum requirement of 3+ years of experience in a site reliability engineer role
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal including the ability to present to and influence different levels of stakeholders
- Proficiency in handling build and release pipelines, Blue/Green deployment, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) is expected
- Proven hands-on experience in overseeing cloud architectures, applications, and services is crucial
- Familiarity with AWS and other relevant cloud technologies is essential
- A solid grasp of automation, orchestration, and container technologies is important
- Strong knowledge in observability and monitoring tools for distributed systems/application architecture is highly valued
- Understanding of Enterprise Monitoring and Alerting processes and systems, with a preference for familiarity with SumoLogic and PagerDuty
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are a definite asset, showcasing the capability to diagnose and rectify issues in distributed cloud environments
