Our client a Payment Service Provider based in Limassol are looking to recruit a tech-savvy, compliance-conscious, and hands-on Operational Lead to drive and scale their banking operations in a regulated fintech environment.The successful candidate will be instrumental in building the infrastructure behind the company’s payment operations, onboarding journeys, and core banking processes. This is a hybrid role that bridges technology, compliance, and cross-border coordination, ensuring smooth internal execution and external scalability.Reports to: COO and GM UK
Department: BankingKey Responsibilities:Payments & Operational Infrastructure
  • Constant optimization end-to-end banking and payments flows, including real-time payment processing, reconciliation, and settlements.
  • Oversee the implementation and improvement of core banking and payment platforms - ensuring they're robust, scalable, and compliant.
  • Build process and tech-enabled solutions to support onboarding, KYB, and payment monitoring.
  • Own the back-office operations: transaction monitoring, payment routing logic, internal dashboards, and reconciliation systems.
Onboarding & Back Office Oversight
  • Oversee onboarding flows for clients and partners — ensuring seamless integration between frontend, back-office, and compliance systems.
  • Identify and fix friction points in onboarding journeys for corporate clients and counterparties.
  • Ensure compliance procedures (ex: 6-eye check) are embedded within onboarding tools and tech flows.
Tech & Systems Ownership
  • Work closely with product and tech teams to define and prioritize ops-tech requirements.
  • Lead the evaluation and onboarding of third-party platforms (e.g., core banking, payment gtw, AML/KYB,C tools).
  • Own the configuration, testing, and optimization of operational systems (API integrations with banks or payment providers).
Regulatory & Compliance Integration
  • Coordinate with Compliance to ensure systems and workflows are aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Support changes in control, safeguarding, and audit requirements from an operational tech perspective.
  • Maintain clear documentation of operational controls and technical processes.
Cross-Border Coordination & Team Structuring
  • Act as an operational bridge between the UK and CY entities — ensuring consistency in processes, systems, and team collaboration together with UK GM.
  • Assist in building and scaling internal operational support structures across jurisdictions.
  • Support knowledge transfer, continuity, and training across ops and tech teams.
Liquidity & Treasury Oversight (Operational View)
  • Maintain an operational overview of liquidity flows across banking partners and accounts.
  • Ensure visibility of available funds, settlement cycles, and partner SLAs across systems.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and treasury team to align operations with funding and liquidity planning.
Audit, Risk & Controls
  • Own operational preparation and coordination of internal and external audits (e.g., financial and regulatory audits).
  • Maintain traceable processes and system logs to meet audit and compliance requirements.
  • Implement operational KPIs and exception reporting for audit readiness and internal oversight.
External Partner Management
  • Open and manage technical and operational relationships with banking and payment partners.
  • Ensure operational readiness for go-lives, migrations, and new partner integrations.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in fintech, banking operations, or payment infrastructure roles.
  • Deep understanding of payment flows, banking integrations, and fintech system architecture.
  • Experience with onboarding platforms, transaction monitoring systems, and back-office automation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for PIs/EMIs and their tech implementation.
  • Good collaboration skills — able to work with tech, compliance, and business teams.
  • Proven experience managing operational change and introducing scalable technical solutions.
Working hours:
  • Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00
Salary and Benefits:
  • Attractive remuneration of around 65,000 Euros gross annually based on experience and qualifications.
  • Yearly bonus upon performance and at the discretion of Management.
