- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy aligned with the organization's objectives, priorities, and risk appetite.
- Lead efforts to identify, assess, and prioritize potential risks associated with sports programs, events, facilities, and operations, utilizing advanced analytical techniques and industry knowledge.
- Develop and implement proactive risk mitigation measures and control mechanisms to minimize the impact of identified risks, including the establishment of policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to risk management and safety in sports, while also promoting a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive crisis management and business continuity plans to effectively respond to emergencies, disruptions, and unforeseen events that could impact sports programs, events, or operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, department heads, coaches, athletes, and external partners, to communicate risk management strategies, solicit input, and foster a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility.
- Establish key risk indicators and performance metrics to monitor the effectiveness of risk management efforts, regularly reporting on risk exposure, emerging risks, and mitigation progress to senior management and the board of directors.
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CRM, ARM, PRM) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in risk management, with a proven track record of success in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within the sports industry.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices, as well as relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, data analysis tools, and risk management software.
