Our client is a Payment Service Provider in Limassol, looking for a Back-End Developer to join a small, focused team modernizing and maintaining our Statements System, a financial reporting application written in PHP. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with backend logic, handling data migrations, building APIs, and deploying systems to the cloud. You’ll play a critical part in migrating our database from SQLite to PostgreSQL, integrating with a payments gateway, and helping transition the system to AWS.Responsibilities:

Maintain and extend the PHP backend of the Statements System.
Lead the migration from SQLite to PostgreSQL.
Build and expose REST APIs to external services (e.g., payments gateway).
Refactor legacy code to modern, testable structure.
Collaborate with DevOps to migrate infrastructure to AWS.
Ensure data consistency, system stability, and performance.

Requirements:

3–5 years PHP experience.
Proven experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational DBs.
Familiarity with cloud deployments (e.g., AWS EC2, RDS).
Experience with JSON APIs, SQL performance tuning, and migrations.
Comfortable with legacy systems and modernization initiatives.
Located in Cyprus
