- This role requires strong expertise in regulatory environments and deep, practical understanding of the legal frameworks applicable to fintech, financial services, payments, DeFi, and private equity.
- The successful candidate will design and oversee the legal framework of the Group, ensure regulatory compliance, manage legal risk, lead the internal legal team, and liaise with external counsel.
- They will support strategic initiatives, transactions, structuring, and governance matters at the Group level and across its subsidiaries.
- Strategic Legal Leadership: Lead the Legal Division across all Group entities. Develop and implement a cohesive legal framework aligned with the Group’s structure, activities, and jurisdictions.
- Advisory Role: Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and the Board on regulatory matters, group structuring, business transactions, partnerships, and investments.
- Risk Identification & Management: Identify legal and regulatory risks across all jurisdictions, design and implement legal risk assessment processes, and provide practical remedies and controls.
- Transaction & Contract Oversight: Review, draft, assess, and approve legal agreements, commercial contracts, and deal documentation. Ensure legal soundness in high-value transactions and operational agreements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor legal and regulatory developments across the EU, UK, and other relevant global jurisdictions. Interpret and apply financial services regulations, including those related to e-money, PSD2/PSD3, MiCA, AMLD, MIFID, and local licensing frameworks.
- Structuring & Governance: Contribute to the structuring of business units, investment vehicles, and fintech platforms. Advise on governance structures and legal parameters for new ventures or changes to existing entities.
- External Counsel Management: Serve as the main point of contact for external legal advisors. Coordinate and manage external legal support across regions and subject areas.
- Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of post-qualification experience, including significant in-house legal leadership roles.
- Proven experience in regulated environments, particularly in financial services, fintech, and investment-related legal matters.
- Strong working knowledge of EU and international regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2/PSD3, MiFID II, MiCA, AML/CFT).
- Exposure to private equity, fund structuring, SPVs, and cross-border investment vehicles.
- Ability to assess and interpret legal frameworks in multiple jurisdictions.
- Skilled in complex contract negotiation and structuring.
- Excellent judgment, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Experience liaising with regulators and external counsel globally.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment with changing regulatory landscapes.
- Previous experience with DeFi or crypto-asset regulation
- Multilingual capabilities or experience operating across diverse legal cultures.
- Background in managing group-wide legal transformation or governance initiatives.
- Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00
